We’ve spent a lot of hours at the brewery with 100% focus on the beer and our processes. We’ve been a little quiet on the update side but with just two of us grinding to reach our goals some things get left undone! We’re in a good position now and the brewery is in full swing production with new beers ready to hit end of march. We’ve also added new locations that are serving our beers. Thank you all for the support!
Here’s a list of where you can find 8one8 on tap ( keep in mind some places rotate taps )
Hope this update finds you well. We hit 2016 running, most of the holiday time was spent playing catch up by brewing and working thru the never ending to-do-list! We’ve set high goals for 2016 and now we have 11 months to execute. We have exciting projects in the works and look forward to releasing information as they develop! Here’s the quick bullet points for January.
Founding Members beer has been Brewed and Fermented. Bombers will be bottled soon and ready for pickup. An email will go out when that time comes. We thank all of you for your support and patience. It took us longer than expected to get this beer done but those are the growing pains of a new brewery. AGAIN THANK YOU!
4 out of the 5 Flagship Beers have been brewed! ( Red – Blonde – Porter – IPA ) The Belgian should makes it’s brewday debut in March
We want to thank the below locations that have embraced putting our local beer on tap!!
Another year in the books! Hope everyone had a great holiday! We’re very excited for 2016! We have some ideas we look forward to executing this year to help take this brewery to the next level. One of the main ways to do that is with MORE BEER! In 2015 we were able to release our “gateway beers” Matador Red and Valley Girl Blonde. We have tanks and kegs full and looking forward to having more tap handles across the Valley! Stay tuned for on tap locations! In 2016 we will be releasing our Baltic Porter and Imperial IPA along with other smaller batch seasonals.
We continue to thank everyone for the support and going out and finding us on tap. Also we still have Founding Memberships and other merch available. Please spread the word thru friends, family and co-workers! Cheers to 2016!
Happy DECEMBER! It’s been a year for the books over here at 8 one 8 Brewing! We’ve gone from an idea and created a concept that we executed from construction to production! We’re looking forward to 2016 and bringing other ideas and beers to life! The overflowing support has been overwhelming and we can’t say thank you enough to everyone! A huge support to the brewery has been thru our Founding Member program! There will be a total of 818 members and we have 542 still left to be claimed. A founding membership is a great holiday gift idea! Order today for a one time fee of $38.18
We want to thank everyone that came out for our first Keg release events! The kegs didn’t have a chance! They were gone quick! We have refilled and will be on tap at Schoonerville – Taps – Crazy Harry’s and Lane 33 soon. Check out some of the pics and vids from opening night!
Our first production batch of beer is in kegs and will be tapped for the First time on 11-4-15 at Crazy Harry’s Bar in Winnetka, CA. Our story starts at this location and we’re thankful we have the opportunity to tap the first keg there. We will also be tapping two other locations with our first batch. Schoonerville in Canoga Park, CA on 11-6-15 which is walking distance from the brewery and they’ve been dealing with us walking in dusty and dirty from construction and also ready to serve us a refreshing beer after the long work nights at the brewery! Taps in Northridge is also supporting us with this first batch. The name Matador Red was born at Taps and we’re excited that this beer gets to make a debut here!
Below is the journey of the first batch!
On 10.8.15 we transferred the first batch of Matador Red ( 90 gallons ) from the fermenter to the brite tanks. To carbonate and clarify.
The kegs have been patiently waiting to be filled up. We decided to go with stainless steel kegs to start. Some new plastic keg options are available and could be an option down the road. BUT at this point in our process the name of the game is controlling as many variables as possible and stainless steel kegs are proven!
Every step in the process at the brewery requires new toys! The guys over at Culver Co. in Chatsworth, CA have been great! They helped us assemble our keg filler piece by piece ( pic below ) Thanks Guys!
Time to fill’r up!
First production batch of kegs from 8one8 Brewing sealed and labeled! 10.27.15
